About Blogs. My First Blog Post.

Blogs

Today I learnt and researched about blogs. I found out how blogs can be formal and informal, and how blogs can be used for advertising and promotion or alternatively just a place to express personal opinions and to share their own interests to the world in a friendly and personally designed template.

Overall as a group we had to answer these three questions:-
-What is a blog?
A blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or sometimes a formal style. An informal blog is a frequently updated online personal journal or diary, it is a place to express yourself to the world by sharing your thoughts and passions. Formal blogs are used by businesses to inform people about their products which advertises and promotes their business.

-What purpose do blogs have?
Informal blogs have the purpose of keeping readers updated with life, work and opinions, it also has the purpose of giving the writer freedom to express themselves to their readers. Formal blogs have the purpose of making money via advertising of products and promotion of their business.
-Find an example of a blog and say what is good or bad about them.
For this question I chose Chloe Hawken's Blog (chloehawken.blogspot.co.uk) Not only is she my best friend she has created a beauty, fashion, DIY and lifestyle blog which is beautifully layed out
-Which online sites can you use to make a blog?
-Blogspot/Blogger
-Tumblr

After completing the research myself and my group made a mind map (above), the mind map is a collaboration of all of the information that we gathered regarding blogs. I now believe that I have a richer knowledge on blogs and their purpose for everybody.
